Student Spotlight:Dan TA
Shanice Mcleish is a master's candidate in her fist year at the LMU Bioethics Institute.
Why did you first become interested in Bioethics ?
Originally from Jamaica, I migrated to Canada with my family, where I studied Biology and Psychology at Wilfrid Laurier University. It was there that I realized I wanted to pursue Bioethics and my passion has lead me to LMU.
Do you have any particular areas of interest in bioethics?
I am passionate about all things social justice related and hope to effect change throughout my career as a bioethicist. Although I do not know exactly what that looks like at this time, I am sure throughout my time at LMU I will be able to define my goals and achieve them.
What do you plan to do after you graduate?
I do not know exactly what my post-graduate plans look like at this time, but I am sure throughout my time at LMU I will be able to define my goals and achieve them. I do hope to one day give back to my home, Jamaica, in a meaningful way as it relates to my life's work, towards the betterment of the country as a whole.
What do you plan to do after you graduate?
During my down time I enjoy traveling, sports, spending time with loved ones and exploring new things (like foods, destinations etc.).
