How did you become interested in bioethics?​

I became interested in Bioethics during the outbreak of COVID-19 as many ethical issues arose in the healthcare setting. As a Chaplain in the midst of a significant homeless and unrepresented population in the downtown LA area, many aspects of life and survival were placed on the conversational table. Participating in many of these conversations I knew I had to equip myself further to have a better perspective and language to address these issues.

What are some hobbies you enjoy? 

I love traveling and working out really early in the morning.

What is your favorite sports team, and why?

Sevens rugby is huge in Fiji where I’m from. The Fiji team is my favorite and has led charts in World Sevens Rugby.

Describe a project or accomplishment that you consider to be the most significant in your career?

Initiating and implementing a program for patient’s at the End of Life that don’t have family. Volunteers are trained to be available at any time to sit with a patient at the end of life so they don’t die alone.
